THE TROUBLED ECONOMY AND ITS EFFECT ON CATS

In these troubled times, with rising gas prices and the economy taking a nosedive, many humans are trying to cut corners wherever they can. How does this affect us cats, you ask? Well, believe it or not, some misguided humans may try to save a few pennies by buying inferior grade cat food and foisting it off on US! This is completely UNACCEPTABLE HUMAN BEHAVIOR and must not be allowed to happen in your household. One time, Steve tried to cheap out by buying an inferior grade of cat food in hopes that I would eat it. Needless to say, I didn't. This whole sordid episode is described in my forthcoming book, The World Is Your Litter Box (yes, another shameless plug), which will be out on May 6th. Also, as a means of doing my part to help the economy, the book will sell for an easily affordable $9.95 in the United States. Cheap at twice the price!
So remember, fellow cat, the fact that humans screwed everything up economy-wise is not your problem. If your human tries to cut corners by scrimping on your food, use your kitty wiles to let them know that this is a VERY BAD IDEA.

My mom bean only buys me the good, expensive stuff. Some is pretty bad and we had a lot of discussion about what I like and don't like. I'm a Fancy Feast girlcat and that's all there is to it.

Hi Gretchen,
It's good to hear your mom only buys you expensive food... that's the way it should always be!

Buying cheap cat food does not save money since usually your human will have to take you to the vet more often. Have your humans buy you organic foods that do not have fillers, corn or wheat in them.

We like Solid Gold!

Hello Quasi! What a honor to meet an important kitty like yourself! It was kind of you to come and visit me. Soon you will be out signing your new book...how exciting for you and your human!
Mommy feeds me the very best money can buy. Paul Newman's cat food! At $1.34 a can, it costs more than Albacore tuna! It tastes wonderful and I am a lucky cat.
Thank you for your hat...I shall keep it on my hat rack...(blush). I am a spoken for kitty by there are many lady kitties who are unattached and would love the attention of a handsome kitty such as yourself...Welcome to the Cat Blogosphere

Hey Quasi! Nice to meet you!

We don't allow our humans to buy cheap crap cat food! But we're lucky. I got 'pee problems' when I was a kitten so the vet told her she wasn't allowed to feed me cheap stuff anymore! Knew those problems have to have some kind of silver-catbowl lining!

I don't get how humans could mess up the moneies and suddenly it OUR problem! Humans! Honestly!

Hi Quasi! Nice to meet you! Wow, you're BIG!!!

Quasi, that is very true. Momma seems perfectly happy eating Cheerios and peanut butter, but I need my good t/d crunchies.

Hi Miss Peach,
Thank you for your very nice post... now I'M the one that's blushing! Also, you are very lucky to get such expensive gourmet food! Steve feeds me okay, but I might work on him and make him feel guilty for not buying me the absolute best!

Hi One-Eyed Jack and Persephone,
Thanks for your very nice post. Glad to hear you get high quality food by default... that "bad pee" trick works everytime!

Hi Jimmy Joe,
You're right... humans (and dogs) can eat all the reconstituted junk they want, but we cats are VERY selective and must stand up for our rights to have only the very best food!

hmmm..the bad economy really hit us here, but we do understand our mommy's difficulties so whatever mommy buy furr our meals, we love to eat them:) we have no complain.... mommy often tell us how she's so sorry about this & giving us understanding about this matter, we all happy here to be at a safe & lovingly home instead being feral or stray cats on the streets.
