Hey fellow cats, as you probably already know, it’s kitten season! Time for your human to go to the local shelter and adopt a lovable little bundle of fluff that will bring a lifetime a joy to your household.
Now, you’re probably thinking, Geez, Quasi, I don’t know… kittens can be rambunctious and annoying. Won’t they disturb my napping routine? Well sure, kittens CAN be a pain in the hindquarters, but hey… they provide hours of entertainment, they make perfect little acolytes and partners in crime, and if you create a little destructive mayhem yourself, you can always pin the blame on them. And you never know… one of them might grow up to be a world-famous author like me (HA-HA!).
So if you have room in your house and heart, use your kitty wiles to let your human know that you want a new little friend or two or three RIGHT NOW! With kitten season upon us, there will be multitudes of kittens in need of good and loving homes. Besides… is there ANYTHING on Earth cuter than a kitten?

A stray cat came in our house and had four kittens. Icy, the white dog, thinks they are cute, but she gets tired of babysitting.
Hi Quasi! I would love to adopt a kitten, but for some stupid reason my husband thinks three cats are enough!
Ridiculous, I know!
Guess what? I went to the bookstore earlier than I'd planned and I bought your book! It was the LAST COPY on the shelf! Isn't that exciting? I started reading it last night and it really cheered me up. It is an absolutely wonderful book and I highly recommend it for any cat lover. This morning I caught Cricket looking it over! She wants to give it a raving review on my blog. :)
Have a Great Day!
Hugs and Purrs,

A very timely post! My Mommie said, at the shelter she volunteers at, they are all filled up with kittens and more waiting for a spot. They are very adorable, too.
OHMYGOSH you better hope my Mommy doesn't see this post! She keeps bugging Daddy for more aminals (2 dogs, 2 cats already) and he says she can't grow up to be a cat hoarder like she wants.
Any suggestions on how to convince our humans of adoption? My OTW is all for it, but the Big One isn't too keen. I'm always happy to see a new furry face around here.
By the way, yes, I'm into non-representational art. I don't believe in making my art 'easy' for the viewer. Perhaps, though, it's too hard, as my humans keep muttering about 'furballs' and getting out the vacuum!
Sadly, my work has not been placed in any galleries, however this may be because my work tends to be site specific, primarily "livingroom floor", though I've been known to also work with sites like "corner of bed" and "catpad on box-top by window". Perhaps I should take the example of Jean-Claude and Christo, and begin selling, not art, but photos and prints of my work, and pieces of the art after deconstruction....hmmmm...
Thank you for your kind words!
~Jack
Yes, kittens are very cute. Merlin is still a kitten, and sadly, we can't adopt any from a shelter since our dad is terribly allergic to furred cats (but fortunately isn't allergic to Sphynx!)
Please do not give my Mom any ideas, Quasi! Every few years she comes home with another kitten and I've raised 3 now. I'm tired!

PS Dad says 4 cats here is enough and won't let her get any more!
We finks dare is room for one more. We just have to convince da daddy man.
Please do not give our pet human any ideas like that... this place is way too small for more of us!!!!!!!!!!
lucy was adopted last year after some nice people found her out wandering on a hiking trail.
i will admit to another handsome mancat that she's not all bad.
Just don't tell this to my mom. Last time she got kittenitis she went out and got Catzee.
Oh no, you've made me kitten-broody and this house isn't cat friendly at the moment. I so, so want another cat or cats, whether kitten or mature, I don't mind.
Your book looks great; I've read the excerpts and am going to see if it's available here in England yet:) xxx

Good points, Quasi. However, we had a new guy walk out of the woods and join us last week, a young tom cat. So I've done my part, even though I have students who want me to take on more because their cats had kittens. No more room in Kitty Inn!!
I adopted little Rosie last year in June and from the very beginning she was a goodie goodie cat, lol ! I hadn't even asked for it ! Now we have 5 cats !
I can only say if you live in a house and have a cat flap one cat or five cats are the same work !
Yes, adopt a stray or shelter kitty. Besides that, please get it fixed. That helps us all!
Dennis thinks a kitten is a good idea.
